Welcome to the ERGO Center of Excellence in Insurance!

„Cogito ERGO sum! I think, therefore I am!"
(René Descartes)

ERGO and the Chair of Financial Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich are jointly breaking new ground with the "ERGO Center of Excellence in Insurance" founded on 1 November 2017.

The aim of the cooperation is to scientifically analyse current topics in the insurance industry, to develop outstanding solution concepts and to implement them in practice. The knowledge and technologies gained will benefit our practice partner and increase the relevance of research and the attractiveness of the Chair of Financial Mathematics' teaching. A further important pillar are courses for students, which accompany them during their studies and provide a practical insight. In this way, ERGO creates direct added value for students through the ERGO Center of Excellence and makes an important contribution to linking theory and practice.

Under the tab Experience Stories, you will find direct insights into various roles that students already play in the cooperation. In addition, it is always worth taking a look at current job vacancies and master's thesis topics as well as our current and past Workshops & Events, which focus on direct exchange between students and ERGO.

In addition, new lectures and seminars will expand the range of courses in actuarial mathematics, which can be found under Education.

In the areas of Research and Publications, the development of new methods in financial and actuarial research is supported by funding for doctoral theses and visiting professors.

We look forward to this fascinating project and invite you to find out more under the individual points.
